1?? in hot water
The Green Bank will have to turn to leverage. Too much borrowing, though, and the lender could find itself in hot water.

A viral Chinese food merchant dubbed “goose leg auntie”, famed for her roadside barbecue, has sparked a national scandal after she admitted that for years she had in fact been selling cheaper duck meat.
The vendor, whose real name is Chen Xiufeng, sent shockwaves across the Chinese internet when she wrote on social media late on June 9 that someone had complained about the discrepancy.
2?? send shockwaves
The court's ruling sent shock waves throughout the nation.

“From now on, I will write it clearly for everyone,” said Chen, who has since halted sales and is now the subject of a regulatory investigation.
Millions reacted in anger on social media platform Weibo, drawing the attention of local market regulators, who launched a probe on June 11 for “suspected misleading of consumers”.
“False advertising and huge profits,” one Weibo user complained, suggesting that Chen should be jailed.
Chen’s image as a down-to-earth labourer has struck a nerve, said Manya Koetse, a Sinologist and founder of the Eye On Digital China newsletter.
3?? down-to-earth
down-to-earth 是一個形容詞,字面意思是「貼近地面」,實際用來形容一個人 practical and direct in a sensible honest way「務實的,腳踏實地的」。
Their ideas seem to be far more down to earth and sensible.
4?? strike a nerve
In mid-life and beyond people can still experience the joy of a random meeting, however short, which somehow touches a nerve.
